We have created an application with Delphi 5 that accesses both a SQL server 7.0 and Sage Payroll 7 database. After processing data as required we set about the showing of a pre-created Crystal report in the 'CRViewer' component. This operates successfully when we are logged onto the workstation (windows 2000) as 'Administrator'. When we use a standard user profile we are presented with an error message and 'Server has not yet been opened'. We have registered the Dll's 'CRViewer.dll' and 'Craxdrt.dll' under both the profiles (admin and user) but are unable to generate the report under the basic user profile.
We do not have Crystal Reports itself installed on the machine (although the application operates successfully under the 'Administrator' log-on) - this is our next port of call..
Can anyone offer any suggestions on this matter ?
Regards,
Steve

There is some documentation on a problem like this at Crystal's support site.
Check out
The article suggests that it's an issue with how p2sodbc.dll ver. 8.0.0.84 handles permissions in the NT/2000 registry. They say downloading an update to that driver will correct it, but I've run into the same situation even with their recommended driver update, so...

Good luck.

Thanks DumTech.
Have downloaded the replacement dll and will test it on the next client install. For the time-being we had to install Crystal Reports and this got us round the issue. This replacement will be used when we next set up one of the client PCs.
Thanks again.
Steve
