"Scaling Up" Tasks that Require Multiple Resources

I'm trying to model a type of scientific testing in Project, and can't see a good way to model the resources used when they are "per day per test subject". Suppose scientists are testing the effect of a new kind of household product on a plant, and there are multiple resources (and costs) per plant in the study. I want to just change the number of plants in one place (say, from 50 to 100) and have all my associated resources and costs recalculate (like a spreadsheet). For example, consider a task "Test hair spray on plants" which lasts 30 days. If it was just one plant, I'd make the task "fixed duration" and assign various resources to it: say 1% of Technician1 for applying hairspray every four hours, 3% of Technician2 for testing certain attibutes about the plant each day, 1 gram of fertilizer per day (material resource), etc. However, I might want to explore a study of 50 plants, 75 plants, 100 plants, etc. and would rather not have to change the number of units of each resource assigned every time that single parameter changes. Can someone help me model this situation conveniently? Many thanks!
