We are currently testing the web reporting functionality of Crystal Reports 8.0.The problem we have encountered is that when we bring up a report in the web browser, and connect to the database, a screen comes up which states "Report Information Needed". It is populated with a default value and does not have a drop down arrow beside it to select different values. When we bring the report up through Crystal Reports directly, we get the option of a drop down box when asked to input "Report Information".
My question is, how do we get the drop down arrow to select different values at
the "Report Information Screen" when we bring up the Report through a Web
Browser? We are using IE4 and IE5 as our Web browsers.
Thank You.

I don't think the drop down will read live data when you go to the web.

Are the values you see in the drop down in the design mode from the database, or are they stored defaults? In other words, how many default values did you store in the parameter?

You might be able to store a static list of defaults with the report and see them in a drop down. But I am pretty sure you won't get a live list unless you write a special front end screen for your parameters in another programming language.

We have several entries for things such as "Department". The problem is, the user will not know all the available selections unless there is a way to display them. Since the "Report Information Needed" screen appears within the Crystal program (after logging into Oracle), I can't think of any way to create a front end to ask the user these questions. I'd have to rewrite the Crystal code to not ask the question so that the user would only be presented with my program when asked for information.
How would I store a static list of defaults with the report?

Thanks.
