Hi, I have an Excel workbook which is password protected. Majority of users use read only but a few are allowed to edit.
Is there a way to make some cells read only even to those with the access password?
The reason I want this is that on the worksheet there are cells which are duplicated on the page. I don't want people to type text in the cells which have duplicate data in them from a formula.

If you can help, GREAT
If I can help, EVEN BETTER

You can use data validation with formula (custom rules).

You can password protect the workBOOK seperately form a workSHEET. Someone may have the password for the workbook but just set up a protected worksheet and they won;t be able to change it

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colours but they all live in the same box.
