does anyone know why the "ps aux" shows the swapper process
running at over 200%
[/home/uwmrne] ps aux | more
USER PID %CPU %MEM SZ RSS TTY STAT STIME TIME COMMAND
root 0 204.6 0.0 52 52 - A Sep 10 786909:39 swapper

I don't recall ever seeing it show up before, all of a sudden there it is?

Thanks

You've got more than 1 CPU

I though the swapper process "swapped" memory back and forth from the disk cache? this box has always run with multiple cpu's, it seems odd that it just stared when I run the ps aux command, I just want to be sure its ok that its there....thanks for responding....
