"Prompt" grayed out from Report drop-down menu in Impromptu

I have inherited several Impromptu reports and have had to edit, save and rename some reports. On a few reports the word "Prompt..." is grayed out in the drop down menu under the word "Report" on the title bar. When I first open a report the prompt box appears and the report opens OK, but if you wish to reselect different prompts, the Prompt is grayed out and the prompt icon is grayed out - I have to close the report and reopen it to get the prompt box to appear. I can't find any references as to why this has happened. These reports were created by someone in the past but I did make the changes as Creator.

Check all the path names of each prompt in the catalog and reports related to catalog.
When checking reports, be sure you are disconnected from the catalog to see first, then connect and verify and make changes to paths if needed.

One possible way out is to delete all prompt syntax from the report and to re-enter them. You are facing this problem probably because the prompt type is a "File Picklist" or a "Report Picklist". Let us know if this works.

nagrajm, Your response is why you want to check the all the file paths first. Then you don't have to re-create the prompts.
