"processing job"

I've got a LaserJet 4+, networked with a JetDirect card. On other networked LaserJet printers I've used, the display shos "processing job" while printing.....but on my printer the display continues to read "ready" while printing a job...is there anyway to force the printer to display "processing job" instead of ready?

You're saying that the printer actually prints, but does not change its display to show it? If so, that is wierd, I work extensively on these printers and have not seen that. If it doesn't print, then that's another story.
