Hello,

I am running ARCSERVEIT for Windows NT 4.0. When my backup jobs start I get error "unable to log on as user" Privilege not held"

I have an arcserve system account configured with groups
Domain admins (set as primary)
Administrators
Backup operators

also I granted advanced rights to the account
Log on locally
Log on as a service
Act as part of the os

In services I configured all arcserve services to log on with this account specifically using domain\username format.
I stopped and restarted all services successully.

Under my jobs I repackaged them to use arcserve system account with format domain\username format.

I verified that I granted the system account full control over the arcserve shared folder.

Is there anything else I should check to get rid of this error?

What are you logged in as, when you try to run this job..

And.. check the ARcserve server admin and check if it has the same user account as the one you are talking about.

cheers

I did check the Arcserve Server admin and it is configured to use the arcserve system account I created. The only thing in here that would not be consisitent is the way I entered the username: I did not enter it domain\username because is has a field to select the domain from.

Also I am logged in to the server as administrator.

Thanks for your help.
