"Press 1 for assistance" is not working - any ideas?

Hi there,

I am running an asterisk/trixbox system, and wondering if anyone has experienced similar issues?
On some automated systems, when calling, I can't proceed beyond press 1 for english press 2 for... it is not recognizing the dial tones, or at least it seems.
Yet, I can call a phone system (3com nbx as an example), and enter an extension number, and it works just fine.
There is a possibility now that I think of it that that call is going out on an iax trunk. could that possibly make any difference?

Have you made sure that you DTMF setting on the phone matches the Asterisk setting in the SIP configuration file (i.e. both rfc2833?/inband/etc).
