"Post-Date" an Announcement in WSS 3?

I've been asked if it's possible to "Post-Date" announcements in WSS 3.0. For example, on the first of the month, HR wants to have all the new hires listed from the previous month. However, rather then doing this all on the first, they would do it throughout the course of the month, and then on the first of the month, they would automatically be published to the "Announcements" list. So far I've not found anything that's able to do that in WSS 3. To "hack" the situation I think one might be able to accomplish it by playing around with the view and expires dates, but not sure how. Suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Ok, I *think* figured out how to do it.
On my Announcement page I went into "Settings - Create Column" and I created a new "Post Date" colum that contained just date information.
Then I went into the sites home page and edited the announcment shared view. In there I set a filter on the announcment view that will only show items who's post date is equal to or less than [Today] and expiration date is equal to or greater than [Today].
This appears to let one "Post-date" an announcement. Yes, it still shows up in the announcment list on the announcement page, but it doesn't show on the home page.

Actually, I suppose you could go into the Announcments page and play with the filters on there, so that they wouldn't even show on the announcments page either... I'd be worried that old posts would get lost in the ether doing that though...
