Hi i am having this error with "PLEASE INSERT OVERWRITABLE MEDIA INTO THE ROBOTIC LIBRARY USING THE IMPORT COMMAND". I am using a Dell PowerVault 122T LTO Autoloader. What can I do?

My Autoloader "Dell PV 122T" does not support software import\export commands

Are you using DELL or VERITAS to control the backup jobs? Which driver are you using? You should be using Veritas drivers and allowing Veritas to control the library/autoloader.

Veritas is totally controlling the backup.
I am presently using the Veritas drivers with the drive.

Have you tried right clicking on a slot in the Backup Exec Devices tab view and looking for IMPORT?

I know you say the Dell PV122T doesn't support software IMPORT/EXPORT, but the Veritas drivers should 'override' that.

Run an export job on the slots you want to change.
Then go to the library - and manually take the tapes out and put the new one in.
Click OK to the Prompt.
Then run and import and click OK to the prompt.
