Can anyone tell me, please, how to link to a new page so that it loads in a box, over the current page, with a close button, so that when it is closed the original page displays. The box need not cover the whole page. Also, can this be done in just html, like the <a href= etc. >.
Also, how to size the box?

Thanks.

You cannot do this only with HTML. There's too many effects that need to be fired with something like this. But in a gist, you would have to:

1. Place a semi-transparent element over the content.
2. Load an element resembling a box on top of this.
3. Fill the box with the content.
4. Provide close functionality, which would reverse the process.

I would suggest you simply find one of the ready-made lightboxes for this.

Thanks, Vragabond.

I googled "lightboxes" and read up on a couple of approaches, but they are too complicated for my level of incompetence :)

So I guess I'll stick with a conventional link / load, without any links out except of the "Back" control.

Which raises my further question: Do you know of any way to simulate the "Back" control in a button or link at the foot of the content on the loaded page?

Thanks again.

Great!, Vragabond. Thanks again.

Even I can do that!

Big help!
