Strangest thing:

1. Pull-down "tools>out of office"
2. Put in dates.
3. Click "enable"
4. Send a message after the start date.
5. Nothing happens--no "out of office" message is generated!

Has anyone seen this? Is there something I need to do on the server?

The 'Out of Office' is an agent. I think the default is scheduled to run once a day. I'm not sure where you'll need to change that, but yes, it's a setting that you'll have to change to run more frequently. Sorry I don't know much more than that!

Go to VIEW then AGENTS. Tick box next to Out of Office. If Lotus allows this the user has enough rights to access/amend the Out of Office Agent, so now double click on that line and change the two options available to you: Schedule and Database. Schedule allows you to increase the Out of Office check and the other allows the Agent to work on all files in the mail database or just new mail since Out of Office was last run.
