"Out of Memory" Error

Hello,

I get “Out Of Memory” errors when I try to do complex nesting. The computer is running PowerPlay and the cube locally. The computer has four gigs of ram and four 3.0 GHz Xeon processors. If I run task manager when I run PowerPlay the memory usage never goes above 425 megs. What memory is running out? Is this virtual memory and if so should I increase it?

Hi,

I would check settings in INIs files. You can modify SORT and READ/WRITE parameters.

Was a solution found for this error? I am getting this Out of Memory error when upgrading a Cognos Planning model from v7.2 to v7.3 on the nodestate table. Using the upgrade wizard, the memory usage continues to climb and caps out at 2Gb and then the process fails. Anybody know of configuration settings to force intermittent commits to db or to increse the 2Gb threshhold?
