"Operation Could Not Be Completed" Error Message When You Use the Add

I am trying to install a lexmark z22 printer on my Hp 264w. the printer is xp compatable. When i try to install the software it says an error about add a printer. when i go to the control panel and click add a printer it says "Operation Could Not Be Completed". then i check on microsoft and they said it might be my print spooler but but it was on automatic. can someone help me thanks

Did you ever find a fix for this? I have a similar problem on an Alienware notebook with XP.
