Hi all,
I have an NEC2400ICS. I want to figure out how to do "live observe" for quality assurance of phone calls made on Dterm Series E phones.
I can't hook up an adapter to the phones at the desks, as their locations is disperse and it's inpractical to go around and gather up same tapes and the end of the day from each phones, much less can that resolve "live observe"...
I need to do this at the MDF, with a centralized device, that one can "log into" and select which phone to observe.
These phones are not IP phones, they are TDM. About 12 years ago, they had a box out, called EDAC (Electronic Digital Analog Converter), that provided analog output of 12 Dterm phone's audio at the MDF. But those were very expensive (like $400 for the box, and around $170 for each card that provided conversion for one phone. So a 12 channel setup was around $2,400).
For one, I don't even know if they make those boxes any more, and two, they are very expensive.
Is there a more practical solution out there?
And no, I don't want to monitor my T1-s on all channels either, as I have about 10 T1-going in/out from the switch, and that doesn't handle internal calls.
Monitoring needs to happen on a per-phone basis, wired at the MDF level, and one should be able to dial some access code to get access to live monitor these phones.
Also can't do Exec Override or Barge-in, as it will prevent the phone user from conferencing or transferring a call.
Any ideas?
