Hello

I am getting an error message when I try to access the workgroup, (5 other Windows 2000 Pro machines) which says, "No more connections can be made to this remote computer at this time because there are already as many connections as the computer can accept."

I don't understand this message, because we don't have a remote computer. Can anyone help?

Norman

It means the machine with the resource (share) you're trying to access. It must already have 10 connections to it (the maximum for 2k pro). If only 6 machines, sounds like some multiple connections from single machines.

or the maximum number of connections was manually set lower.

go to file, properties, sharing and see if the user limit is set manually to allow only a certain number of users. maximum is 12 I believe, but you can limit it to whatever number you like below that.
