Hi

We recently purchased and installed a 3Com Superstack 3 firewall on our ADSL line. If I join a computer running w2k to our domain (w2k servers only), put it on another internet line and then try to connect using the Safenet/Soft-pk VPN client everything works fine except that I cannot open the shared folders on our fileserver (which is also PDC. Don't ask, not my decision :). That is, I can ping everything and I can use Exchange MAPI. If i do a "net use \\<computer/servername> <mypassword>" i can gain access to other servers/workstations, but not before i do that and I have to do it for every single machine I want to connect to. When i try to connect to the PDC the error message reads "There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request" or in the case of mapped drives, sometimes "Local device name already in use". I know that a lot of people have had a similar problem and solved it, so I hope someone can come up wioth an idea. The firewall handles the VPN so there are no RAS or the like.

BTW If I logon locally everything is fine, browsing, My network places etc. (using WINS). If I run "set" in a command prompt i can see that if I start the VPN client and logoff/logon it will set the logonserver parameter to the correct servername, but it doesn't make any difference connectivity wise.
