Hi there--

I have several windows file servers where I'm sharing some of the file shares for Macintosh users.

It works great.

I have one server which requires me to logon, and then manually re-share any of the shares for Mac. There's an application I run to mount the drives locally - it doesn't happen at boot up.

To make life easier, I've scripted the file-mount and windows sharing, but cannot find out how to manually share (through DOS or the like) for Mac.

I'm looking for the equivalent "net share" command which will allow me to share a filepath on a windows server for Macintosh clients.

Help.

I think you misunderstood and I didn't explain well either it seems... that FAQ isn't what I'm looking for. I have no issues sharing or accessing shares in the normal way.

I can share great, manually, on the windows server. I have mac file sharing installed. No worries.

I use the finder on my Mac and connect. No worries.

I want to be able to setup my windows shares, for MAC access, via somesort of a "net share" command from the command prompt on my windows server.

for instance... I can use "net share" properly on the windows server and create a WINDOWS share... but the Mac client cannot see it. When you create a share in windows, you ahve to in effect create it twice because you share it for windows and mac (if you want to).

That's my issue.

I don't want to logon and run a manual process. I want to script it so I can get all my shares mounted at login.

this isn't an issue when drive letters/moutning doesn't change. I do this already on 25 "normal" servers.

It's just this one server that has to remount drives on login and that causes drive letters to change ... I can figure the script on for the disk/lun thing, but not the "net share" for macintosh.
