We have a Micros 3700 with three workstations. One of the workstations has a small window that keeps popping up in front of the menu and table screens about every 1-2 minutes, We can touch the pop-up window and move it out of the way as we are entering food orders but it's annoying. The window says:
Micros CAL Busy
Copying Updated Files
Current Operation
COPYFILE:
\cf\micros\bitmaps\res3700.bmp
The window shows a moving status bar thingamajig in the middle. Once the status bar finishes, the window flashes and changes the last line above to:
cf\micros\etc\pms\.isl
I have been on the phone with our local Micros support. We may have made some progress but I'm not sure. Together we:
Checked the binding order of the NIC cards and confirmed the Micros NIC card was first.
Checked the power management settings of Micros NIC and unchecked "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."
Checked the Speed/Duplex of the NIC card and confirmed it was on "Auto."
Restarted the Micros MDS HTTP & DB Update service.
Not right away, but eventually after these actions the "Micros CAL Busy" window stopped popping up on TWO of our workstations but continues to harass us on the third one.
Our Micros system has a way of experiencing strange and sporadic behavior so it wouldn't surprise me if this went away all by itself. But just in case it doesn't, any suggestions?
