There is a button on our IP phones labeled "Message." On every phone (except one), the button pulls up your VM extension. As I mentioned, a single user somehow changed what their button does so that it now automatically dials another users extension. The "Message" button is now essentially a speed dial for a single extension for them.

I dug through the maintenance console settings but I don't see anything different on his phone compared to everyone elses. Has anyone ever seen this before? I want to set the button to it's default voicemail behavior and make it so the users can't change the functions on their phones anymore.

Thanks!

It is a message lamp lit bu an extension by mistake. Press message key with handset down then press transfer to clear. Or dial, *700 plus it extension number

This sounds like one of the flexible programmable keys rather than the individuals 'message' key.

What I would suggest is seeing what floating extension is programmed under the message key on a handset that still has the feature set.

This sounds like a company message key.
