Hi Guys
Can anyone advice this problem?
I'm sending a legit mail that is being generated by a subscription form, from our company website.
The problem is that I never get these mails becauseWebShield SMTP 4.5Mr1a quarantines it with message "MAIL CANNOT BE SCANNED".
I looked at the blocked mail using OutLook Exp and can't find anything suspicious. The only thing is that the sender and recipient are same, but there's no option to block it on the Webshield.

Thanks,
LZ

The option to block corrupt email is under the 'Scanning' module on the 'Action' tab. You have two options: 1) Notify only, and 2) Quarantine or Delete.

What Net. Assoc. have to say:
"After an extensive code review for HotFix 5 a change in behavior was deemed as necessary due to the increase in viruses using malformed e-mail messages as a method of distribution. With HotFix 5 WebShield now reports e-mail messages that are not RFC compliant as corrupt and handles them according to the corrupt e-mail messages handling settings in the GUI. These messages are also recorded as “NOT SCANNED” in the e-mail log file."

"If an organization is seeing large amounts of e-mail being treated as corrupt then some samples should be submitted to McAfee support for analysis or the vendor of the originating e-mail program should be contacted to ensure the e-mail conforms to the relevant RFC."

HTH.

Thanks, I know this stuff, but i don's see any reason for blocking it. It's a plain text.

Thanks anyway

LZ

Sounds like you'd better send them some samples, as they've said you should do in the quote I took.
