"Line / Border" problem when pasting data from Excel to Power Point

I am experiencing a problem when I paste data from excel to Power Point.

Data I have borders around each cell with data on / in each row and column.

Issue The lines ending on each row (on the right hand side) end with an “arrow head instead of a straight line (like this “?”).

The same issue occurs with the lines bordering each column from top to bottom. The line ending in a column (at the bottom), ends with an arrow head instead of a straight line like this “?”.

I am unable to determine how to get rid of the pointed lines.

Note: This issue occurs when I do a simple paste (right click) from excel to Power Point. The only way I can see or get the data pasted correctly is when I do a “paste special” and select “MS Office Excel Worksheet Object” to paste the data.

You have a line with arrow set as default line. To fix it:
- draw a line,
- right-click it and choose 'format autoshape',
- check left and right ends settings, set it default.

Combo - thanks for your reply, however your solution does not resolve the problem.

The issue (I think) is not when I "draw a line" in PPT, the issue is when I copy data from Excel to PPT. The lines within the excel data that contains grid/border for each cell end with an arrow or point at the end of each line-border when I paste it in PPT.

Please advise if you can think of any other solution.

I suggest you remove the borders from Excel before copying/pasting, and then add borders to the cells directly in PowerPoint.

Also, IF you do NOT need Excel embedded in PowerPoint, and simply need a picture of the copied portion of Excel, then use Paste Special and choose a graphic type rather than the object link.
