I've seen it with my own eyes. So far in the lab It fixes the loss of programming and privacy issue. Will test it in the field and will post more info. Lets hope it is the last one until they send the "Daylight Savings Patch

Is this on the eflash web site yet? Or is this directly from TierIII?

T3. Took 3 weeks to get here and is multi-use.

I didnt want to wait for T3, so I purchased a new card from thre manufacturer.... I also was told it was a 1 time use card. Imagine my surprise when it worked again and again and again....well, you get the picture....

I've used my card 4 or 5 times. No issues and have had it from Avaya for at least a month. What is the issue with daylight saving time on the R7.Haven't had any calls yet

Word is that Avaya is working on a patch to allow for the new Change Of Time schedule.

I'm curious to know if the "J" patch allows the Time of Day clock to be adjusted by caller ID info. It would be really nice if it did. [smile]

how much is the card

The patch is now on the eFlash tool site for Avaya Business Partners.

Yes, it fixes the Privacy issue that the 91-I created.

And YES the system time synchs with CID

I'll be pestering my dealer for a copy! [bigsmile]

I had this patch(J) over a month now, however it didn't fix the programming loss problem for all the systems I upgraded over 10 so far, the time and date is ok and saved but other programming is lost. I had a post a while back regarding that and now I'm wondering what is going on, any inputs will be appreciated.

Had a long talk with Avaya Rep today. They said the only difference between the "I" and the "J" patch is the privacy issue is resolved. The "I" fixes the loss of programming and enables to set time of of caller ID. Also they said the 2 AAA batteries are useless for anything other than clearing the "replace batteries with power on error message". I told them that they were full of crap and the "I" fix made a bad product even worse. Look for a "K" patch next year for Daylight Savings change.
Unofficially at this point the R7 is the end of the line for the ACS. 2010 is the last year. Nothing to replace it for now.
Also the reason given for the end of the Magix was they are out of parts to make new boards. Something about a one time massive purchase of componets to manufacture the boards.

Once again this is what was told to me TAKE IT FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH.

Gee, now the Partner ACS is a sitting duck. I guess Avaya feels that their customer base doesn't care about TDM telephone systems anymore and crave nothing but VOIP systems.

It's a shame that a nice telephone system like the Partner ACS is going out, not with a bang, like the Merlin Magix, but with a whimper. [sadeyes]

ok, so i had one reported issue if the loss of power losing programming this week. walked them through a restore over the phone, and all is well. what patch will fix this as what 1043 says tells me the j does not fix the loss of programming in power out scenario, but the i does. i need to get set up with what is needed to avoid calling them to do a retore if power goes out again.

I posted elsewhere, but here's my 2 cents for the benefit of statistics.

I've had about 5 - or 6 in the past 6 months (with one Warranty replacement) lose programming.

I wound up installing UPS. A few others that I installed where already on UPS, so who knows if they will hold or not, without it.

Needless to say, you can't make money if you're constantly having to go back to re-load these systems every time a squirrel gets adventurous on the wires.

I love the ACS but this is getting OLD!

Over at Sundance, several Avaya Business Partners have noted that they refuse to sell the R7 processor and continue to sell the R6, which is still in production.

It is really sad that the Partner family will be ending with a flawed release. Avaya dropped the ball big time. [sadeyes]
