Having a real tough time getting the "find me/follow me" keycode to apply on our BCM50 R5.0. We recently purchased 5 Intouch seats and 5 FindMe/FollowMe seats.

I was able to apply the keycode. and the intouch seats show and i was able to configure it and its now running fine. however, the 5 find me/followme seats do NOT show. i opened up the keycode, and it definetly shows the FM/FM seats in there:

SystemId: XXXXXXXXXXXX
Sequence: 9
KeyType: 2
# Upgrade
299 212
# In Touch
295 5
# Find Me/Follow Me
292 5
# Fax Suite
223 1
# IP Client seat
218 12
# LANCTE Seat
217 9
# UM seat
208 11
# VoIP GW Trunk
206 2
# VM seat
202 16
# Exp Port
118 2
# Int Digital Sets
117 12
# Int Analog Sets
116 4
# Int Analog Trunk
115 4
KeyCode:
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I downloaded the keycode file again, and tried to apply it, but its giving me an "invalid keycode error". I uninstalled element manager, donwloaded the one of nortels site, and tried it again, and same issue. i removed element manager again, ran it through web interface, and still same error.

Really scratching my head on this one. i checked and verfied the file name and system ID. and the keycode must have applied the first time, or i wouldnt have any intouch seats.

any ideas???

If u have problems w/ the keycode u need to contact Nortel/Avaya Support

Will it let you load the code again if it is already there? I thought to reload the codes you had to remove them first with a level 1 or 2 reset. If you tried to load over existing I think that is the error you get.

@hawks, maybe that is the issue.

I was looking through the nortel docs/manuals. i couldnt find anything on the procedure to remove/reload the keycode file. can you walk me through this?

also, will this process set everything back to square one, forcing me to reconfigure everything?

Level 2 reset. Info is in the manual. It will return your system to factory default.

ouch... factory default....

i guess as a last resort. is there any other way?

Level 2 reset is the only way to remove a keycode so u can enter it back in.

right, but id have to reprogram everything as well... not sure if its worth it to the higher ups.

What if you do a back up then level 2 reset then add keycode back then restore database from backup.

What about manually entering the keycode ???
Type it in.

It's only dialtone-VZ

vztech: keycode is already in. he has to remove it in order to enter it back in.

can you manually enter the keycode? i couldnt find anywhere to enter in the keycode... just load the file

Are somehow remotely accessing this system?
I've seen this problem before on BCM50, where remote access would not work for entering the keycode. when the technician went to the BCM system and connected directly into the OAM, the keycode got loaded fine.

Frideo

im connected using element manager through the LAN

Why don't you just go back into KRS and regenerate the license file and upload it again? KRS will give you a file with a new sequence number so the BCM will allow it to be uploaded.

Ok, it was just worth mentioning.

Yes, telcodog's suggestion is a good one. Just put on a Try-n-buy feature that you're not going to use. You'll get a whole new file.

thanks... good call on the try-and-buy. i will give this a go.

On a BCM rel 5.0 you can no longer type in the keycode manually.

I foudn you coudl do a 'restore' from the BCm and then just select security when prompted. This took me back to the previous keycode.

My BCM 5.0 keycodes look in a totally different format to the one shown here - they appear in some XML type format.
