I believe that the tables that we have created within Paradox are not indexed. The reason that I believe this to be true, is because I have attempted to create a Crystal Report based on Paradox tables, and attempted to create a relationship with 2 of them. I received the message "Invalid File Link - Not an indexed field". So I believe that my fields/tables are not indexed? How do I verify this, and how do I index the tables/fields? troy_underwood@owfg.com

When you connect to Paradox each table is a DB like Customer.db.
There should also be a corresponding Customer.px file. If they are together in the directory and have the same name, then CR will find and add the index automatically.

If you don't have an index file, then you would have to use Paradox to create one. I don't know the commands within paradox to create an index for a table. Ken Hamady

OK, yes I see that there is a *.px file as well within our file structure. I suppose that this means that these tables are indexed? The reason I ask is because I was not able to create a relationship with 2 Paradox tables within CR. troy_underwood@owfg.com

If CR isn't picking up the index you may have to attach it. You will know the index is attached when you see fields in the Visual Linking Expert that have green tabs on them. You can only drag TO a field that has a green tab.

To attach an index, right click on the table, and select description, and you will see a button for attaching indexes. You will have to know the correct index file name and location. Ken Hamady
