Okay, yesterday was my first "live" day with a nicely running database, published to the web using the Instant Web Publishing feature.

Today I went live to our remote location and gave them the URL. I'd set up this external user with "Full Access," and she logged in with the password I gave her. It worked for about two hours. Then it died.

I tried to restart FMP and got an error saying "Filemaker cannot share files over the Web because Instant Web Publishing could not be started." In the Web Publishing dialog box which was populated, yesterday, with the URL linking to the datbase? No more URL.

So basically, the Instant Web Publishing feature is refusing to do it anymore, suddenly. This error message doesn't tell me why not, or what to do about it. Online troubleshooting does not address this error message. The program Help does not address this error message.

I can't call Tech Support because this is only a trial version so I have no access code. See, we'd been on FMP 4, and upgraded to FMP 7 trial version. I like it and bought it online, and our "real" licensed copy is en route. But I want to be online NOW, not wait 'til the license copy gets here.

By the way, I found one reference to this "Filemaker cannot share files over the Web because Instant Web Publishing could no tbe started" error message by searching this Forum, but the answer only said to look at an online tutorial. As said, no online Help source references this error message.

How about you?
