I'm pretty sure I know this answer, but need to ask anyway, just in case. Is it possible to preform an "insert" function when programming (adding) SD/BLFs on 7916 sidecars?

I have three recently-deployed "Church-Organs" (7975 + double sidecars) with only a few open slots remaining on page 2 of the second sidecar. The client is pretty adamant about wanting to "insert" 4 BLF's on page 1 of the first sidecar and "just shove everything down" like we used to be able to.

The three sets are clones (super-copies) of each other, not that this would make any diff.

Thanks in advance!

Absent this ability, would it be possible to re-program one of the sets as the client wishes, then "kill" the other two MAC addresses and perform another super-copy to clone them without the hassle of having to first de-program all the Lines Appearances and BLFs on them?

You can edit the buttons and move them up and down as desired. And insert as well. Assuming you are version 6 and above here.

That's wonderful news... believe me it really is. I'll take another (closer) look and see if I can figure this out.

And (another) Star for you! Finding that insert capability really saved my bacon.

in older versions it didnt have that capability which was really annoying. They took care of it a couple of years ago maybe three.

Considering what has to be one of the more arduous tasks in CM, creating line appearances, BLSs, etc., this capability is almost mandatory. Sure glad to see someone was listening.

If the demand is there cisco will add the feature as a rule of thumb. If you are adding phones in bulk I suggest playing with the Bulk admin tool. It makes it much faster as you become proficient using it.

Yes, agreed, the BAT tool is much faster, though it doesn't scale well. It's OK for 30~40 installs at a time but on larger rollouts, say 100+ all in one bite, it would be helpful to have some way of vetting your script(s) for accuracy or programming conflicts before blowing them into a live system & having to read the error files after the fact. We also have "mixed" users, most unified, but about 10% that aren't and a hodge-podge of set types (7942, 7945, 7965, 7975) requiring separate hardphone scripts for each type. The BAT tool is still preferable to individual programming - you just have to be careful. I used the BAT tool yesterday to run an AddLines script for a set with twin sidecars (56 total lines) and it was a Godsend. I've also noticed when performing a SuperCopy that you have to go in and "touch" every line appearance to un-tick the "Log Missed Calls" box. Is Cisco aware of this bug? (CM 8.02.40000-1)

I actually use the BAT tool for everything over three phones. You can verify the csv file against call manager before you actually run it so there is minimal risk there.

I have not seen the issue you mention but perhaps I have not noticed it.
