Good Day,

The environment is as follows:
1. Pervasive.SQL v9.5 Server Edition
2. Pervasive.SQL User Count = 20, with only 11 being used
3. Sage Accpac ERP 500 v 5.4
4. Server - 4GB of RAM and Single Xeon 1.8GHz Processor

The problem is this; users are able to connect to the database only sometimes other times they get this error: "Incorrect database version.". At other times they get connected, then loses the connection.

I'm at a lost as to what could be causing this, can anyone shed any light on this please.

Thank you,
Shelldon

The "Incorrect database version" sounds like an application issue.
Here's how to verify that. When the error occurs, try opening one of the Pervasive Utilities (Pervasive Control Center or Function Executor), then open one of the files/tables the Accpac application. If that works, the problem is in the application.

As far as the lost connection, check the PVSW.LOG on both the client and server. You can post the contents of the LOG files.

Thanks Mirtheil,

You were right, I doubled checked the application and realised that the lastest service packs were not installed. After installation of the service packs both issues went away.

Your post was most helpful.
