My Norstar Flash VM 2.0 (hardware #NT5B06EB, software #NT5878EC)quit working. I called out the company that sold it to me and they said it was fried. As they wanted $600 for a refurb replacement with no warranty, I got one off ebay for $75 and hooked it up. I figured I might have to get them out to program it but thought I might give it a shot first as we didn't have much to lose.

The very first thing I tried was feature 983. Response is "Invalid Feature" (which is the same thing the old unit kept showing for everything). After reading through the forum here I tried feature 903, feature 915 and assorted others. They all say "Invalid Feature."

Next I tried feature **XFTEST. It responds with "Password:" I entered the default password, 266344, but nothing happens, and the only entry option on the 7310 screen is "retry", there is no "OK".

I got a new unit, but used the feature card from the old one.

I'm not sure what direction to go in next. Any advice would be appreciated.

and they figured it out over the phone, no on site tech? amazing did you try to reboot the old flash

Yes, they did have us reboot the old one. Power down both the flash and the ics unit. Power up the ics, wait for it to come up, power up the flash. It didn't help.

do as norstar boy says call a local qualified tech

Yeah, that plan didn't work out real well for me the first time I tried it. $600 for the unit, $600 to install and program. I have 6 phones in use. I figured I would have them program it once I got it hooked up and verified it was working.

now this is where the qualified tech comes into play, did you buy the correct flash for your system?

I matched the models and versions exactly, and the feature card is the from the old system.

and the feature card is the from the old system"

Maybe that's your issue?

Or the Power Supply.

Otherwise you bought a dud

On Flash 2.0 feature code range needs to be selected before they will work.
