Hello everybody, I have a RAID 5 array containing 4 disks, each of 36 GB. Now I need more space, so I'm adding two new disks (same size), but I need to keep the cluster working, while I'm doing this.
Is there a way to expand the RAID 5 array without shutting down the system?

Thank you

Stefano

If all your firmaware is uptodate you should be able to do it all online though, expand the RAID through Array Manager then use diskpart (from MS) in Windows to expand the partition, assuming you are talking about a non-system partition.

However given you said it's a cluster can't you just fail one server and do the expansion more safely? If it's an active-active cluster with not enough resources to run off one node then you have my sympathy (assuming it's not you that configured it this way :p ).
