"format" function not recognized

I was using the "format" function (successfully) to create constant length strings to place in forms. Now Access reports that the "format" function is not recognized. The References under Tools in VBA appear to be what they were before. What Library or Reference contains the "format" function or what would cause Access to 'forget' the function?

What changes have you made that might include your format procedure or name?

Open a new dummy database and only do a format example in the code for a command button and proceed from there.

I solved the problem using MS knowledgebase article Q194374 that shows how to refresh references.
