in the following piece of code, what does the command string "ft" mean?

for ft in ${FILES}
do
cp ${SOURCE}/bin/${ft} .
${CROSS_COMPILE}strip ${ft}
chmod 555 ${ft}
done

It is just one iteration of the loop pulling the "next"
variable from the array defined in ${FILES}. It is one
value of ? possible held in the array.

This is shellcode. This is the tcl forum.
Is this code embedded in a tcl script?

Thanks for the information. I am new to Linux. The piece of code came from a "script" file supplied by a vendor. In tring to find the answer to my question, I looked in the index of my reference book under "scripts". The index pointed me to the TCL chapter. Thanks again for straightening me out.
