"FIND AND REPLACE" within file names?

Files were transfered from a french Macintosh server to an English NT 4.0 Server.

We now have a problem with the names of many files. They contain a character not recognized by NT. Therefore, they can not be copied or quickly opened by double-clic.

I would like to rename them all to get rid of that character. Is there some way to perform the equivalent of a "FIND AND REPLACE" action within files names?
