Hi There,

Is there a way to fake an "end of job" without reloading all the resources again and again. This causes our file size to double everytime we want to jog. So if I could place a couple lines of PS code that fakes EOJ where the Jog should be...just a thought

Any Input would be appreciated.

Thanks!

There are two main ways jogging/offsetting is implemented on a printer, if it supports jogging/offsetting at all.

One way is to jog/offset at the end of every job. This kind of jogging/offsetting can often be achieved by a setting on the printer, without any commands needed in the job. This is called job level jogging/offsetting.

The other way is to be able to jog/offset within a single job. This requires commands in the job to indicate the approriate points at which to jog/offset. This is called subset jogging/offsetting.

From what you describe, you want subset jogging. There is no "fake" EOJ that can achieve this.

You need to find out if the printer you are using supports subset jogging. If it does, then there should be PostScript commands that can be used to achieve this without any "fake" EOJ. The printer vendor should be able to get this information.

Thanks
