I am receiving "Error 619: The specified port is not connected" when I try to establish a VPN connection using the Microsoft VPN adapter.

I am running Windows 2000 with all service packs and updates. This started happening after I installed a Cisco PIX 501 on my network. I am guessing there is some sort of default port blocking that is interfering with the VPN connection, however, I cannot seem to figure out how/what to enable in the PIX's PDM to get this to work.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Ian

What statements are required to allow a VPN inbound past my Cisco PIX?

The following example is a simple PPTP access list:

access-list 110 permit tcp any host x.x.x.x eq 1723
access-list 110 permit gre any host x.x.x.x

mattwray - I don't know how to "make sure port 1723 IP protocol 47 is open" - Can this be done in the PDM?

blin2000 - I'm not trying to let a VPN connection come inbound. I'm trying to establish a VPN connection via Microsoft's VPN adapter in DUN.

Thanks for the info, but I'm still just not sure how to do what you're telling me.

That last response was from me... I was on another user's computer, and they had left their login enabled.

Anyone out there? Does the PIX block this connection type by default or something??

Robert's post I believe would work inbound or outound. Just assign it to your Interface with out.

access-list 110 permit tcp any host x.x.x.x eq 1723
access-list 110 permit gre any host x.x.x.x
Int s0
ip access-g 101 out

Thanks,
