I have an issue with Symposium. One question.
1) I keep getting the "Element Not Available" message on the screens that i have. Does anyone know how I can resolve the issue?

You're gonna have to be more specific here:

What screens - Web client, classic client, real time displays??

What are trying to do - run historical reports, start real time reports, log in, administer the call centre etc???

Give us a clue....

Real Time Displays.
This is when i am trying to start the real time reports.

It runs for about 2 minutes and then stops and the element not available message appears on the displays.

Has this ever worked?

It sound likes multicast or unicast problem.

Yes it has worked before.
We thought it may be a multicast problem.

Any idea how to fix this?

What element is it that is missing? Do you get complete HISTORICAL reports for this element. If there are gaps in the report then this would suggest that there is a problem with the server. In any case it may be worth re-starting the web server and Symposium server. When the failure occurs, do you still get the multicast symbol or has it changed to unicast or no symbol at all?

In my situation, RTD quits randomly @ every 2 months or so. For me, a simple reboot of the CCMS and CCMA servers fixes.

Sometimes if you stop and start, (or restart if it has stopped), the RDC service on the CCMS will kick it back into life rather than re-starting the whole lot.

RDC being the Realtime Data Collector.
