Hi. I'm responsible for my office's Web site. It was fine when I got here, but somehow in routine updating and additions of things I must have messed up the main page. It still LOOKS right and everything works ok, but when i open it in Internet Explorer, I get the message "done with errors on page."

Double clicking on that error leads to a missing "expected" character: ] in the middle of a line of code.

There is no visible error message when viewing the page in Netscape.

The MOST confusing thing is, when I refresh the page in Explorer, the error message goes away and it just says "done." But if I type in the URL or hit the "home" button (on Explorer) it has an error. Also true if I navigate to other parts of the site and then navigate back through the site's links.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this or if it's just something I need to live with?

Thanks. I use Dreamweaver MX.

Can you post the URL please?

FYI...
Using IE6 I get an error before the page even loads...

****************************
A Runtime Error has occurred.
Do you wish to Debug?

Line: 117
Error: Expected ')'

Yes, I am a fool - I had debugging disabled.

I get the same error.

Line 117 is "</head>". This most likely means that you have forgotten a closing parentheses somewhere in that mire of JS ;)

My error is on line 118, character 573. So I counted and it doesn't make sense to put ')' in: 'Homegraphics/BluStar)t.gif'.

I still don't understand why it would not show an error after the page is refreshed. i'm going to keep working on it today. Thanks for your help!

AAAH! I think I got it fixed. there was a missing comma inbetween some of those GIFs. Why couldn't it just tell me that? It was NEAR character 573, but I used word to count my characters so it wasn't human error. for the love. at least now I'm not getting that error message. Anyone else? Thanks again!

It now loads error-free for me. Good Job. :)
