"distinct" function in excel

in a dynamic cross table, i want to "distinct" data.
is it possible with excel?
 
I'm built too low....what do you mean by distinct, as in sql select distinct?

Also have you tried the Filter or Pivot table tools?
 
I agree with ETID can you be a bit more specific?

If you want to see uniqueness of data,
From your open spreadsheet:

Data
Filter
Advanced
Check the Unique box etc.

If you wish to count permutations of data I'll be happy to supply the formula.
