I have in the past created or updated paradox 8 forms on a machine with P10, then used them with 8. This time I added some fields to and rearranged the form with no scripts. Trying to open it in Pdx 8 get the announcement: Disk Error occurred while reading file. I have copied the file, initially residing on a memory stick, to the working directory with no luck. Does anyone have thoughts on the subject. I can always spend another day recreating the same thing form Paradox 8, but I'd like to use this one.

Is Paradox from WPO 10 (I know, it's not really P10) just not backwards compatible, or is there a solution for this?

I was sure I had seen this here somewhere, but I can't find it.

If you've modified a form with p10 and then used it in p8, then you've just been lucky.

You need to use p9, generally, as a transitioner. Once in a while you may get away without it, but not generally.

It is also important that a stylesheet from p8 be used.

The initial form was with a P8 style sheet. I wonder if there is a way to change only style sheet and leave the rest in tact. I suspect not.

It doesn't matter about 'initial' stylesheet.

If you open a form in p10, it's a crap shoot whether you'll ever be able to open it in p8 without using p9 as a 'translator'.

However, I mentioned the stylesheet since if p10 sets the stylesheet you'll need to change it so p9 can translate it and p8 can open it.

P9 is the one I don't have. Rethinking.
