" DHCP ip address get changed quite often in win2k clients"

Hi,
I am facing this problem, I have an NT4 server which is running DHCP server on it. I am seeing Most of the Win2k (dhcp clients)clients which gets ip adress from the server after some time (may be 8 to 10 hrs )get set to an ip address which will be of 192.168.1.x (where as my dhcp server ip scope is 192.168.10.x) which makes those m/c out of network. Every time i need to release the ip address and renew ip address. Where as my IP Lease period on server set to unlimited option. This problem is only specific to win2k clients,(professional ver most of them).

Another problem i have with Win2k running with sp4 is that after some time of operation, The paste option will be not be available9(i can't paste any thing,the option itself will be disabled), i need to restart the m/c then it becomes normal. these two problems are killing my time.

Can any one help me or direct me like what could be the problem ?? or is there any patchs from micrsoft.
please help me out.

That's certainly an odd problem. You definately do not have another DHCP server of some description on the network do you?

No i dn't have any other DHCP server,. This is happening only with win2k clients..

You should not set it to the unlimited option, try setting it to 3 days. This will avoid problems later on.

You should also try running network monitor and analyzing the packets to see where the bogus address is coming from.

Have you checked all the info on the problem client? What DHCP server does it say it has?
