"Default Selection" in search and select prompt

Hi,
I have 2 search and select prompts for 2 required parameters.

Inspite of adding default selection values and in properties pane of both the prompts i cannot see the default values in the propmt page when I run the report.

Why is this happening ? Is there a way around it ?
Please help me out with this..

Do you have any filters in your report that may be causing the report to not show the values in the prompt? This happened to me before and this was the cause. I deleted the filter and the values appeared.
