Okay, so this is probably more of a rant than a question, but maybe someone has a workaround! ;-)
<rant>Let's say I have some text separated by multiple spaces, "blah yak", and I want to replace the spaces with a tab. I would normally go to the space immediately after "h", hit cw<tab>, and it's done. But on HP-UX vi it only replaces one character. I wouldn't mind so much if it was consistent, but if you hit "w" on its own, it advances (or deletes in the case of "dw") to the beginning of the next word as it is supposed to, so the "c" command should operate on the same principle! %-(</rant>
Calm blue water.... I guess I'll live with "dwi<tab>" for now.
