"conflict" boot messages!

i have this old compaq peice of crap. when booting, it always says "resource allocation conflict - PCI device 0060
to 0068 at slot 01". I know this to be the video card because its the only PCI card in the machine. This has been happening forever...just is it a video card prob or is it the compaq?

Intel 200Mhz MMX
64 Ram
win98 SE

PCI slots sometimes share stuff with other M/B items. Have you tried swapping the video into another PCI slot? Ed Fair

well, since this computer is proprietary, the other pci slot shares a place where it screws in -with an ISA card which is using the 'space' needed for the alternate PCI. I hope you understand what I mean.
I have another video card, a viva 128, which seems to eliminate the boot error. But this device never seems to be functioning in windows' device manager. Thus, I cannot run it at high resolution, or 16 bit high color. It's just one problem after another.

ok I forgot to mention something... I have an onboard video which I dont use and it doesnt work anyways...
and i tried the other port, no difference there. Oh, but I found a jumper on the vid card that said INT [internal?]. it was disabled so i enabled it (for testing pruposes). So far, no error messages! I think this may be the ticket. but thanks to Ed Fair for his help. You da man!
