"Comment"ing in Excel 2003 - From External Reference?

Is it possible to pull the contents for a comment in a cell from an external source? It seems Comments are nothing more than a simple virtual "post-it note", but I'd like to load the data in the comment from a separate file/location....

Is it possible?
