Hi,

I am unfortunately a sort of neat freak when it comes to my httpd.conf file (what an intro, huh?). I use it for barebones personal uses, so it's a relatively simple configuration. Is it possible to move sections that I won't need to tinker with (for example, the modules) towards the end, and things like aliases toward the top? Is there any defined order that needs to be kept in order to keep Apache happy? The only nesting I see are the Directory, Files, and IfModule declarations.

Thanks,
Joe

You could move the mentioned sections into a configuration file (like, say, modules.conf) and use Apache's Include directive to import them into the httpd.conf file. Replacing a large block of module loads with a single include line might temporarily temper your tidyness tendencies. Look in the apache docs for the proper syntax.
