For some reason (which is what I am trying to figure out) I occasionally get a corupt database that fills in data with "chinese letters". I go to "compact and repair" database, then delete the record which seems to fix the problem. Anyone know what causes this to happen?

Possibly you inherited the database or PC from another user which had added a language set? I have a database that occasionally shows my printer in Chinese. (Hovering the mouse over a report in the reports database window shows the printer, at least it does if you're on a network.) The previous designer had added the Chinese alphabet to his PC.

Just a thought. Good luck!
