"CDRConverter has stopped working"

WP12 Office; Windows 7; desktop PC - moved on to Windows 7 recently and subsequently have been getting the above error message whenever I try to open a .jpg file in WP; any pointers/solutions? Did a and came up with any number of EEEK! CDRConverter is BAAAAAAD!!! pages; came across one forum where someone posted "firewall had flagged the CDrConverter as not trusted and/or allowed. I corrected that and have had no further problems" ... but I have no idea how to go about replicating that with my firewall.

Any suggestions much appreciated. Thank you.
