Hello,

Management has come up with the brilliant idea that they want to review all email going to and coming from a specific domain.

I have reviewed M$ article 342021. From my limited knowledge; this appears to be a workable solution; but, I always like to check with the forum...

Has anyone else done this with E2K-Enterprise.

Thanks,
eric

there is no article 342021 and there is no M$ site either ..

Did your brilliant Management also cover the LEGAL issues of that, namely a potential breach of privacy laws if ALL employees have not received AND signed an agreement that monitoring will be done?

Well, that is the complicated way.
That still does not cover you from legal issues.

Marc,

Yes, it is complicated. But the creation of an event sink is the answer that I've found here, microsoft, and other knowledge trading sites.

Do you know of something less complicated?

In regards to the legal issues. That is in the hands of the Legal Department and not the IT group.

thanks,
eric

Turn on message journaling to a specific account and then set a rule on the journal account to forward all mesages sent to a specific domain to a specific account. This is very easy to setup, you just have to clean the journal account out often.

And THAT is where most people are WRONG.

Check many other posts on the catch-all issue here, and you will find the same answers, some very detailed.

If YOU provide access to anyones mailbox, that individual could hold YOU accountable. Protect YOURSELF by getting at least a signed statement from Management to do so.

Every user should be made aware of the monitoring, in writing, AND sign it. That is to protect the company, the above is to protect YOU.
