I am running VS 2008 pro SP1 on one computer and BIDS 2008 on a second computer. On the first computer, when I attempt to edit the script of an existing script task in an existing DTSX package, I get:
Code:
Cannot show Visual Studio Tools for Applications editor.

For help, click: [URL unfurl="true"]http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink?ProdName=Microsoft%u00ae+Visual+Studio%u00ae+2008&ProdVer=9.0.30729.1&EvtSrc=Microsoft.DataTransformationServices.DataFlowUI.SR&EvtID=CouldNotShowVSTAIDE&LinkId=20476[/URL]

------------------------------
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Could not load file or assembly 'VSTADTEProvider.Interop, Version=9.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. (Microsoft.SqlServer.VSTAScriptingLib)
However, I am able to edit the script with no problem on the computer running BIDS.

I have .NET 2.0 through 3.5 installed. Windows update is up to date. A post on the MSDN SSIS forum had a batch file that fixed the problem for a user that posted there, but it didn't work for me. That post talked about downloading VSTA 2.0 SDK from summsoft.com. Instead, I downloaded and installed the VSTA 2008 SDK from msdn. It didn't help.

Any help is appreciated.
